Presidential Primary Election February 27, 2024

The Presidential Primary is a closed primary, which mean that every qualified and registered elector must select the ballot style they wish to receive. Ballot styles for the City of New Buffalo will be either Democratic or Republican. There are no local proposals on the ballot, so a proposal only ballot, is not applicable.

If you are on the Permanent Ballot List to receive an absent voter ballot in the mail, please be sure to return your ballot selection form that was mailed to you recently, preferably by January 15, 2024.

Early Voting for State and Federal Elections

Beginning with the Presidential Primary on February 27, 2024, registered voters in Michigan have the right to in-person early voting for all State and Federal elections as passed by Proposal 2022-02 in the November 2022 General Election.

Early voting begins on the second Saturday before the election and ends on the Sunday prior to Election Day.

Early Voting for the qualified and registered electors of the City of New Buffalo will be held at the South County Building (Berrien Courthouse) located at 1205 N. Main Street, Niles, Michigan 49022, in conjunction with other municipalities under a Berrien County Agreement. The tabulating of all early votes cast from the City of New Buffalo will also take place at the South County Building (Berrien Courthouse) in Niles, Michigan, beginning at 8:01 pm on Election Night.

All registered voters in the City of New Buffalo should have received a public notice in the mail with the details. If you did not receive one, please contact the city clerk at (269) 469-1500 for information.

It is important to note that on Election Day the voting precinct for the City of New Buffalo is still City Hall, located at 224 W. Buffalo, New Buffalo, Michigan 49117.
