Chief Election Officer
The City Clerk is the Chief Elections Officer for the City – responsible for running elections consistent with the Michigan Election Law, as amended, and applicable federal requirements.
The City Clerk is the Chair of the Election Commission, which is also comprised of the City Assessor and City Attorney (City Charter, Section 2.7.)
The City Clerk is responsible for:
- Voter Registration
- Ballots
- Voting Equipment
- Absentee Voting
- Petitions
- Election Workers
- Voting Precincts/ Polling Places
- School Election Coordinating Committee
- Candidate Fillings
- Election-related Notices
Election Inspectors Wanted
The City of New Buffalo is always seeking Election Inspectors for upcoming elections.
As an Election Inspector you will:
