Harbor Country Hike and Bike Classic
The Friends of Harbor Country Trails and the Three Oaks Spokes Bicycle Club are hosting the first annual Harbor Country Hike and Bike Classic on Sunday, June 30, 2013. This event will offer two walking routes and three cycling routes, all departing from Oselka Park in New Buffalo.
Registration costs $25 and includes a route map, refreshments along the routes and a picnic lunch. Children 12 and younger are free when accompanied by a registered adult participant. All proceeds will go toward funding safer biking and hiking trails throughout Harbor Country.
The walking routes are distances of 3 miles and 6 miles, with a centrally located rest station offering snacks and beverages. The cycling routes are distances of 10 and 20 miles with a rest station in Three Oaks at Dewey Cannon Park. Lastly, the 30 mile bike route offers a rest station in Three Oaks and Harbert Nature Preserve near Sawyer. Please see their brochure for more details, including the application form.
