No one is permitted to have a garage sale (or lawn, rummage, estate, etc. sale) without first obtaining a Garage Sale License from the City Clerk and paying a $1.00 fee.
Only two garage sale licenses are available per calendar year for each household. Each permit is only good for three consecutive days and it must be prominently displayed.
Permitted sales shall only be held between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM ET. No public street or right-of-way may be used.
No advertising of these sale shall be done by posting of signs on utility poles, trees, or in any manner within the street rights-of-way.
The following situations are exempt:
A. Persons selling goods pursuant to an order or process of a court of competent jurisdiction.
B. Persons acting in accordance with their powers and duties as public officials.
C. Any person selling or advertising for sale an item or items of personal property which are specifically named or described in the advertisement and in which separate items do not exceed five in number.
